Quarter 4:
Conserving the Thai Culture
In this quarter, we focussed on ways to conserve the Thai Culture as it flourishes through the next generations of the Thai people. The lesson was introduced by showing examples of media where videos and music videos were portraying features that made it "Thai". Also, the activities that we did was to use fabric to create Thai National Costumes. Before I started the project, I researched on the topics I was interested in which were the Thai patterns. As the Thai patterns were normally on the interior designs of spiritual and noble, I wanted to take the patterns and develop something that people could be able to use within their daily lives. This sparked the idea of getting the patterns into a stamp and so customers or designers could easily print them onto clothes, or any fashionable materials. This way, people are able to understand and know the basic types of Thai Patterns and how they are unique. This technique would allow the newer generations to be in touch with the patterns and see the beauty so they continue to conserve the patterns and represent what makes Thai people "Thai".
This particular project relates to the school's ESLOS where it enhanced communication skills and creativity. As well as being aware and helping the community. This is because after the project, we must present our ideas to the teacher and our friends, in order to explain what our project is about and how that would suit the topic of "conserving the Thai Culture". Furthermore, it initiates creativity for both the customer and the designer because the designer must come up with a beautiful pattern that resembles the real Thai patterns and allowing the customer to use their own creativity to decorate clothes etc.
Reflection:
The whole course of Thai Civics was beneficial and most importantly, it provides knowledge for us. This way, our daily lives are impacted for the better and we can use our knowledge to further help ourselves or even our community. The amount of work load is suitable and the instructions given in class are detailed and clear. To make the class even more wonderful, there could be just one class where the knowledge are summarized before the exam, so that the students could remember what the contents and review them again.

Recycling Costume Reflection
The World revolves around waste materials that are often non biodegradable and not recycled. Materials that are non biodegradable would cause harm to the environment both to the air, causing potential air pollution and could harm aquatic life. Therefore, it is time for this generation to reuse those waste and make the most out of the materials. This year, MUIDS students are taking on a challenge to reuse materials such as plastic bottles to create costume designs, to recycle the materials and using them to create attractive and creative products.
Our class, 1208 are willing to produce the most fascinating design with recycled materials or unused materials that are left overs. Our design included the glimpse of Thai traditions as well as embracing the strength in feminism. We focus on the idea that women are powerful and could take on tough decisions. This is represented through the use of Thai Boxing costume with a female model and colors that symbolises
Thai boxing is a traditional martial arts that is often presented with male figures so to emphasize the idea that women could also be seen as a brave figure and that the word ‘boxer’ should not give just an impression that they are male. In this generation, sexism should end.
We used colored tissue paper from a teacher’s scrap paper basket. The yellow and red tissue were braided into a ring and acted as the headband and armband for the boxer. Also, the same material was used in varying colors to create a skirt behind the boxer. The skirt represents the female population and how our model/ leader would be the ones changing the perspective and finally equalizing all genders. Moreover, the top covering of the model was made from the inside of snack packets, giving the touch of silver which represents an armour. This represents protection and how both men and women should unite to protect each other, signifying that both genders can be tough both inside and outside. Furthermore, the pants are wrapped in a Thai traditional style called the ‘Jong-kra-baen’. It is made from black rubbish bag which provides a symbol for bravery and courage because the similar style had been used on Thai warriors. The flowers at the back of the costume represents the tenderness of women. They blend perfectly with the image of a strong female leader from the silver top showing the unity of male and female.
At our school, there are large amount of snack consumptions and the packets are disposed without further use. The snack packets are hard to recycle any other way so we decided to use it within our fashion design. Materials such as tissue paper are also hard to reuse because it is fragile and often used in a very specific way. The leftover colored tissue paper from the class activity usually becomes garbage, so we recycle them to reduce the amount of garbage in school. The garbage/ rubbish bag is the item that holds the other waste, so itself would not often be recycled and that the garbage bag has to hold the waste is similar to how boxers must hold on to their pain.
This project initiate team working skills and uses our creativity to produce a meaningful design that does not only allow the students to show their own creativity but allows the student to do good for the community and the environment as well.

Quarter 3
Unit 3: Criminal Law, Taxation, International Agreement.
Unit 4: Universal Ethic, Good Citizenship
We learned about Criminal Law as to understand the punishments and any circumstances that can lead to a decrease in penalty. We learned about them to be able to be aware about the real world and understand what is considered 'wrong' or 'immoral'. These are useful knowledge because we are able to use it throughout of lives and to know law, especially criminal law gives us the advantage in the future.
Taxation is another topic that is useful because we must pay tax inorder for the government to use the money to improve the country as a whole. We learn to what extent we must pay tax and learn the rights that people have.
Throughout the course we learned about human rights and ways in which people must maintain their rights in society and community. This way we are able to understand things that we can or cannot do. We also studied about consumer protection law so that we are aware and informed about the rights that we get when we are consuming products whether they are food, drinks or other products that we use on ourselves. The consumer protection law are there so that we are protected from being uninformed or tricked.
Universal Ethic, Good Citizenship
Universal Ethics was an idea created by John Locke, he discovered the idea and presented as a concept of independence and was accepted worldwide. This way, there are universal standards that people around the world are able to refer to.
Furthermore, we learned what Good Citizenship is and that we must not include the ideal citizenship based on religion because throughout the world, people believe in different ideas of what is 'good' and everyone has different religious beliefs. To know what a good citizenship is, we are able to contribute to the country in a positive way and impact society with

Quarter 2
Unit 2: System of the Government
Inspection of the Exercise of State Power
Laws in Everyday life
In this Quarter we studied the structure and the system of Government. It provided an opportunity for us to understand the basic knowledge in our daily lives. We also studied about inspection of the exercise of state power to understand the procedures of how one could determine evidence. Laws in everyday life such as Divorce, Birth certificates and marriage. These are all useful knowledge for students to understand and learn so that they are able to use their knowledge in the future. At the end of the quarter, we created a video to demonstrate the laws on Divorce and demonstrated the situation by acting out in a play. This utilizes technology to be used in a environmentally friendly way that does no harm to others. The work also implements team working skills and communication skills.
Quarter 1
Unit 1: Social Structure
Our first unit focused on the social structure and their flaws in society. Mainly, in a society there should be adequate family stability, education, mental health, moral ethics, governance, financial stability and religion. Without stability, it could result in the down fall of an individuals lifestyle and could potentially affect their lives eternally.
Our first project, individually researched about harms and problems in the society. I researched about a singer who committed suicide, this demonstrates a weak foundation within the society, causing individuals to become extremely stressed and be depressed etc. As a group, we then collaborated on our work and each person shared their opinions on the stories they researched which related to problems within the society. After, we created a poster to illustrate the harms of an unstable social structure and also how to solve those problems. Our poster represented a building being constructed, showing that each floors represent each parts of the social structure and that it is crumbling down, the workers and construction vehicles are the solutions to those problems that are crumbling down.
Reflection:
This project provided new perspectives and adjustments to our ways of thinking, allowing us to understand that family, wealth and religion had impact on our lives. The project also raised awareness of the solutions to the problems so that we could improve on our prosperous life. The project initiated team working skills and communication skills, therefore, we collaborated and worked as a team to create a successful poster, which was commented as being presentable and clear, easy to understand. Furthermore, the project allowed the use of technology to create products that are useful to the community, it expresses ideas that is unique and creative, it promotes honesty and being modest which is suitable according to society standards. Also, by presenting we are able to inform what we understand to different social groups and individuals, it also promotes a healthy lifestyle and become responsible citizens so that our social structures could be improved throughout our lives.
