Organic compounds are carbon and hydrogen containing compounds, there are many types of organic compounds such as alkane, alkenes, alkynes, cycloalkene and aliphatic compounds. The functional groups that these have are Alcohol, Ketone, Ether, Ester, Aldehyde, Amine, Amide and Carboxylic Acid. We must find out the real life compounds and show how or what the organic compounds would be made into. An example of a compound with 3 functional groups and is an organic compound is Tetracycline Hydrochloride. It is used into an antibiotic which could treat bacterial infections such as treating acne, syphilis, skin infections etc.
The project allows the researchers to apply class knowledge to real life situations and understand why we are studying about a particular topic in chemistry. It provides an application and it's purpose to the substances and show their uses in our daily life.
